The Oak Creek Ranch School Wildcats celebrated wildly after the final buzzer on Wednesday as they beat cross-town rival American Heritage 31 to 16.The fans in attendance and headmaster, Mr. Wick, were all cheering and “high-fiving” as they counted down: 5,4,3,2,1 - VICTORY!
“Our defense was playing like a swarm of bees out there, American Heritage's team couldn’t get a shot without a wildcat in his face” said coach Galley. “I’m so proud of the way we played tonight. After some close losses we are playing better basketball.”
The high scorers for OCRS were: Andrei G. with 9, Zac B. with 6, Stephen K. with 5, Nate J. with 4, Adam R. with 3, Travis S. and Ethan W. tied with 2 points each.
This weeks’ outstanding player is Zac B. Zac comes from Anthem, AZ. and has been at OCRS for 3 years. Besides basketball, Zac plays on the varsity (championship) football and varsity soccer teams. With his tall stature and his big force on the inside, Zac is averaging 6 points per game. He will graduate this May and will be going to A.S.U. in the fall. We are so proud of Zac and wish him the best at college next year, he will be missed!
