Just in time for Parent’s Weekend, the students in the Art and Photography classes put the finishing touches on their projects. Many of the students had not done much art or photography before, and so it was a wonderful surprise to see so many quality projects. The digital photography students entered work in two categories: landscapes and panoramic landscapes. Both parents and students were impressed by the craftsmanship and creativity apparent in the work. When the students viewed the work, they cast their votes for their favorites.
The results were:
Landscape
1st - James T.
2nd - Jack B.
3rd - Zachary B.
Panorama
1st - Zachary B.
2nd - Cody S.
3rd - Jack B., Hayden T.
The art students displayed their block prints and their ceramic sculptures. The block prints were inspired by artist M.C. Escher. The creativity of these works added a lot of color to the show. The students were also assigned to create a ceramic sculpture based around the theme of a “creative shoe.” The projects displayed a variety of techniques and stories centered around a shoe. We were fortunate to have a few students that were not even enrolled in the art classes want to contribute their talents. A miscellaneous category was created for all of the sculptures and pottery created on the wheel.
The voting results were:Block Printing
